Know Your Quote is free to read. It’s funded in two ways, and this page explains both.
Advertising
Pages on this site show display ads. The ad network decides which ads appear, based on the page and on its own targeting settings. I don’t choose individual advertisers, and an advertiser appearing next to an article doesn’t mean I recommend them.
Affiliate links
Some pages may link to retailers that sell air conditioners or hot water systems. If you click one of those links and buy something, the retailer may pay Know Your Quote a small commission. You don’t pay anything extra.
Affiliate links are marked where they appear, so you know which links are commercial.
What stays independent
Commissions and ad revenue don’t touch the research. No retailer, brand or installer can pay to be included, to be ranked higher, or to change a price range. Every figure on the site follows the rules in How we research prices, whether or not there’s a commercial link on the page.
If a retailer that pays a commission sells a product at a worse price than one that doesn’t, the price we report is the real one.
