This policy explains what information Know Your Quote collects when you use the site, how it’s used, and the choices you have. Know Your Quote is run by Gabriel Reyes.

The short version
- You can read every page without giving us any personal information.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads. Both use cookies.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply and, if you shared a quote, to check our price ranges.
- We don’t sell your information, and we don’t pass your details to installers or anyone else for marketing.
Information we collect
When you browse the site. Google Analytics 4 collects information about how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived. We use it in aggregate to see which pages are useful and which need work. It doesn’t tell us who you are.
When you see ads. Google AdSense shows ads on this site. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads, measure them, and, where you allow it, personalise them using your visits to this and other websites. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and control ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
When you contact us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. If you share a quote, we may use the figures in our research, but never your name, your address or anything that identifies you or your installer.
Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This site uses them for:
- Analytics (Google Analytics), to measure how the site is used.
- Advertising (Google AdSense and its partners), to show and measure ads.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message and can accept or refuse non-essential cookies. Anyone can block or delete cookies in their browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. The site works without cookies; some ads may be less relevant.
Where your information is stored
Google and our hosting provider may store and process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. They handle it under their own privacy policies and safeguards.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted. Emails are kept only as long as we need them to reply or to check a figure you sent.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
This site is written for adults making decisions about their homes. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
